Accessibility Statement - Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv

The Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv makes every effort and invests a great deal of resources to provide customers with equitable, respectful, accessible and professional service. In accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998 and the regulations enacted under it, considerable efforts and resources are invested in making the necessary accessibility adjustments so that persons with a disability can enjoy the services offered to all customers in an autonomous and equitable manner.

The building's accessibility arrangements
The following are the accessibility arrangements in the public reception center located on the entrance floor of the Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv, at 8 HaRakevet Street

Accessible parking spaces

There is no parking lot affiliated with the hostel.
There are parking spaces at the Beit Hadar parking lot and at the Ahuzat Hahof Levontin Street parking lot (paid parking) close to the Abraham Hostel, including a parking space for a high vehicle. The parking lots are 150 meters and 230 meters from the hostel entrance, respectively. There are also 2 municipal parking spaces for persons with disabilities located outside the hostel, 10 meters from the entrance.

 

Access routes

There is continuity of access from the entrance to the reception desk
 

Accessible reception desk

The reception desk has a hearing loop (audio induction loop) for hostel guests with a hearing disability.
At the guest's request, the guest is given a folder to sign that is used away from the reception desk.
There is a lowered and adapted reception desk.

 

Main entrance

The hostel entrance is accessible.
The width of the entrance door is 114 cm.
Entry of a service animal that assists a person with a disability is permitted in the public reception center.
Arrangements can be made for attendants to drop passengers off at the main entrance.

 

Public toilets for persons with disabilities

There are accessible toilets in public areas.
They are located on the entrance floor.
There is an L-shaped grab bar.
There is a folding grab bar.
The door width: 95 cm

 

Auxiliary kit (assistive listening kit) for persons with a hearing impairment

The reception desk has audio kits for guestrooms. You can ask to have maintenance staff install it.
 

Elevators

There is an accessible elevator that is opened by a personal key (obtainable from the reception desk).
The elevator door width: 100 cm
The size of the elevator: 190 cm x 150 cm
The elevator buttons are prominent and include braille

 

The dining room

There is an accessible route to the dining room
The height of the self-service buffet: 108 cm
The staff have received training in how to help at the request of a guest with a disability
The dining room has accessible furnishings, chairs and tables, adapted to people with a movement disability and these are marked accordingly.
The bar, which operates in the lounge in the evenings, has a low bar top at a height of 70 cm to serve customers in a wheelchair, and an assistance booth for persons who are hard of hearing.

 

Additional services

Guestroom adaptation kit for persons with a hearing impairment or deafness.
A service animal that assists a person with a disability is permitted in the public reception center.
If the need arises, a guest can approach the service representatives at the booths to help fill out forms.
At the guest's request, furniture can be shifted in the adapted guestroom.
At the guest's request, guests with a visual disability can be escorted and given assistance.

 

Accessible guestrooms

Note: the hostel offers a case of auxiliary kits (assistive listening kits) supplied to persons with a hearing impairment for use in the guestrooms.

There is an L-shaped grab bar alongside the toilet.
There is a folding grab bar alongside the toilet.
There is a roll-in shower for a wheelchair.
The size of the shower: 100 cm x 100 cm.
There is a grab bar in the shower.

Room 414, on the 4th floor

The distance from the elevators is 19.5 meters.
The width of the elevator door is 94 cm.
The width of the door to the bathroom is 86 cm.

The width of the clearance space alongside the bed is 120 cm.
The bed height is 55 cm (it cannot be raised any further).

Events

The location is open to persons with disabilities. There is an accessible entrance, accessible seats, an audio system, toilets for persons with disabilities, and seating for persons with disabilities. If special accessibility adjustments are required, you need to email us at: eventstlv@abrahamhostels.com three weeks before the event to make the necessary arrangements.

The following are the accessibility arrangements that exist in our common spaces (lobby, lounge and rooftop):

  • There is continuity of access from and to each of the spaces, including an elevator.

  • There are accessible toilets on the lobby and lounge floors
     

Accessible Customer Service

Accessible service training for employees: training is conducted to acquaint employees with the issue of accessibility, to create awareness about accessibility among employees, and to equip them with practical tools to provide accessible service.
 

Accessible call center – the voice response has been made accessible by delivering the information in clear language without background music.

Equalweb`s Automatic system, team of developers, designers and content accessibility experts has reviewed, remediated and tested this website by performing multi-layered accessibility testing and analysis of the new and updated accessibility measures and web content.
